ABOUT ME

about me

My name is Cecilia. I have been an English to Indonesian and Indonesian to English translator since 2011.

I hold a Bachelor of Education (Sarjana Pendidikan) degree from a university in Indonesia. I also completed a Graduate Diploma in Publishing and Communications (Advanced) and a Master’s degree in Translation Studies (Indonesian Stream) from universities in Australia.

I am certified as an English to Indonesian translator by both Association of Indonesian Translators (Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia – HPI, Indonesia) and National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI, Australia). I am also certified as an Indonesian to English translator by Association of Indonesian Translators (HPI). I am a member of two translators’ associations: AUSIT (Australia) and HPI (Indonesia).

I am interested in education, health and fitness (especially nutrition), food, localization, arts and crafts, business, marketing, cultures and languages, psychology, and children. I am open to opportunities to work with general texts and texts in the fields listed above.

As a lifelong learner, I am always eager to learn different things in life and explore various perspectives that life has to offer. I continue to challenge and improve myself to be better in what I do. I think freelancing is both challenging and rewarding and I learn a lot of valuable lessons from my freelancing journey.

Outside of my freelance translation work, I can be found reading books, watching movies, or trying different arts and crafts projects. I am determined to do my best and enjoy life.
